1. Introduction

Hunter Stoves Ltd is committed to conducting its business responsibly and ethically and to respecting fundamental human rights. We do not tolerate slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, human trafficking or other forms of exploitation within our business or supply chain.

2. Our Business and Supply Chain

Hunter Stoves Ltd is a manufacturer and supplier of heating and outdoor-living products. Our operations and supply-chain partners support the design, manufacture, assembly and distribution of our products. Our supply chain includes raw materials, components, finished products, packaging and services sourced domestically and internationally.
We recognise that labour and human-rights risks can vary according to geography, workforce, product, service and supply-chain structure, and we seek to work with reputable and established business partners.

3. Our Commitment

• We do not knowingly permit slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, human trafficking or unlawful child labour.
• We expect employment to be freely chosen and workers to be treated fairly and with dignity and respect.
• We expect applicable labour, employment and health and safety laws to be observed.

4. Supplier Standards and Due Diligence

As a manufacturer with a substantial, international and multi-tier component supply chain, we recognise that it is not always possible to independently verify the employment practices of every organisation at every tier of the supply chain. We therefore take a proportionate, risk-based approach to modern slavery due diligence, with the aim of identifying areas of potentially greater risk and applying additional scrutiny where appropriate.
Risk factors may include working and employment conditions, health and safety, child or forced labour, geography, the nature of goods or services, workforce characteristics, supplier policies and any concerns arising during the business relationship.
Where appropriate, our due diligence may include requesting information, declarations or supporting documentation from suppliers and undertaking further assessment where an increased level of risk or a potential concern has been identified.
Where concerns arise, we may seek further information, agree corrective actions and timescales, monitor improvement and, where necessary, reconsider the supplier relationship.

5. Employees

Hunter Stoves Ltd is committed to fair and ethical employment practices. Employees are expected to be treated with dignity and respect, to work voluntarily and under clear terms and conditions, and to be able to raise concerns without fear of retaliation.

6. Risk Assessment

Our assessment of modern slavery risk may take account of geography, industry, workforce characteristics, goods and services supplied and the complexity of the relevant supply chain. Greater attention may be applied where the nature of the relationship or available information indicates increased risk.

7. Training and Awareness

Relevant employees, particularly those involved in purchasing, recruitment, supplier management and related activities, are provided with appropriate modern slavery awareness information and are encouraged to report concerns.

8. Monitoring and Continuous Improvement

We will continue to review and develop our approach to responsible sourcing, due diligence and modern slavery risk management as our business and supply-chain relationships evolve.
